Communist labor camp
Visit the authentic labor camp (uranium mines for Soviet Russia) near Prague where the prisoners suffered in 1950s.
Your driver and local Czech guide pick you up at your hotel to go to the Communist labor camp out of Prague. During your trip your guide will talk about the historical development in European context, the political events, but also about the daily life under Communism. The guide has a lot of personal or family stories to share, use this tour as an opportunity to learn as much about Communism.
For about one hour you drive to a labor camp in the woods in Central Czechia. This is an authentic camp where people really lived and suffered, many of the prisoners died in the bad conditions.
The camp was used in 1950s when all kinds of "uncomfortable and burdensome" people and critics of the Communist regime ended up imprisoned for many years. Their job was to mine uranium for Soviet Russia with primitive tools. Upon arrival you will watch an introductory movie (only in English language) about the camp and the political development of Czechoslovakia.
Then you walk through the camp with a local guide. You will visit simple barracks, library with the cultural center, hospital, and prison. Around the whole camp are two rows of wired fence.
The camp is called Vojna. Entrance fee 2 euro/person is not icluded.

Our lovely tour guide Eva was so knowledgable. We did the All-Inclusive Prague tour. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who is visiting Prague for the first time. We especially enjoyed the walk to Prague Castle. We got an overview of the history of the city. It ended with a river cruise, which was scenic.
We spent three unforgettable days in Prague thanks to Eva's perfectly organized tours and suggested restaurants, hotels (prior to our trip), concerts and places to explore. Eva's English is great and she is a multilingual tour guide. Eva's knowledge of Prague, sense of humor and easy going nature make for a very pleasant time spent with her. In short, everything was at 100% and exceeded our expectations…
The guide was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Prague Castle. I’m a bit of a geek and asked many questions and the guide was prepared for all of them. I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge on the history of Prague, it’s people and politics. The castle grounds are fascinating and this tour made it even better as it was personalized to my interests. I’d highly recommend this tour.
